Today, we shine a spotlight on one of our own, a true testament to the legacy of Virtus et Scientia. Let’s celebrate the incredible journey and achievements of our beloved alumna, Ma. Lucia Iglesias Ruiz!
A double-degree holder from the University of San Agustin, Ma. Lucia graduated with a BS in Medical Technology (Batch 2000) and then returned to her alma mater to earn her BS in Nursing (Batch 2006), where she truly excelled.
Her dedication and brilliance were evident when she placed 4th in the Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination in December 2006!
From Iloilo to the UK, Ma. Lucia has built a remarkable career in healthcare. She has dedicated 12 years to the Critical Care Unit (ICU), where she has progressed from a Band 5 bedside nurse to a Band 7 Clinical Practice Educator at Mid & South Essex NHS Hospital, a position she has held for five years.
A true lifelong learner, she has earned her Postgraduate Certificate in Health and Medical Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Simulation in Medical Education. She also shares her expertise as an honorary lecturer for the East of England Regional Critical Care Network, teaching and facilitating simulation for students.
Ma. Lucia, your journey is an inspiration to every Augustinian. We are incredibly proud of you and thankful for the way you continue to embody the values of our university.
